^35 [a]For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the sake of the gospel will save it. ³⁶ What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his very life? ³⁷ Indeed, what can he give in exchange for his life?
